Gamers are coming together to remember Gary Gygax, co-creator of D&D who died in 2008 on this day. Each time we play D&D or just think about the game, we’re sharing in something he made. It doesn’t matter whether your version of D&D comes in three little booklets, five colourful ones or a series of hardbacks. It doesn’t matter whether it’s got Erol Otus artwork on the front cover, or work by Wayne Reynolds. It’s all D&D, and comes from the same root. We explore strange fantasy worlds of underground caverns, battle bizarre monsters and gain XP and gold for our troubles. We share good times with our friends, and – more precious than all the XP and gp put together – make memories that will last a lifetime.
Goodbye Gary, and thanks.
Now, let’s roll!
Well said. RIP GG
