So….you’re running Poser 6 on a laptop with 512mb RAM and a 40 gig drive…that will pretty much do it. Poser 6 takes 70mb of hostage in RAM just to run on idle. And on top of that it’s using your CPU as a shield whenever you’re actually using the application. Just loading a character will make that spike to well over 100mb in RAM usage.
Poser 6 has big elbows and it takes a LOT OF SPACE to run.
Victoria 4 itself (not 4.2) is a big character file. It’s very refined and takes a lot of power to modify. So I think that there’s a lot of reasons for your computer to freeze. But XP still sucks, that is very true.
Daz3D are also knows for releasing things waaaay too early. Poser 5 was released before it was even DONE…and they kept providing “bug fixes”, which in reality was bits and pieces of the software that was missing, for almost a year afterwards. Which was the reason why I never bothered to get it.
And they tend to do the same thing with the characters.
So it might be due to an unstable release of Vicki 4.2 as well.
