I was thinking about that Saphire and Steel story while watching this. That was spookier than Torchwood. I do find this series a lot better than the first, but I’ve got mixed feelings about it. On the one hand it’s interesting enough to hold my attention, but there’s something not quite right about it.
I can’t help but keep remembering what Charlie Brooker said about it on Screen Wipe some time ago to (probably a clip of that on YouTube).
I’ll continue to watch though.

My favorite is still Dr Who…and I’m sticking to it :P

Yeh, Sapphire & Steels scared the pants off me, even moreso than Doctor Who used to do; where some episodes of the Doctor had us hiding behind cushions, S&S would give me freaking nightmares for years – and I loved it!
Remember the episode with the faceless man? That still freaks me out today.
Christa: I agree, nothing tops Doctor Who. In the pecking order, I’d say it’s the Doctor, then Primeval, then Torchwood – but Jack & co. are starting to vie for the number two spot.
