Maybe its me, and I don’t know if I’m reading too much into it, but
Aint mentioning any names of course, but the song has the lyrics…
“For bonza car insurance deals….”
Now, firstly the song is annoying, but, if women are the safest drivers why are they being portrayed in the respect they can sing without their hands on the steering wheel…
(Hey I don’t drive, so I aint making an attack on women drivers, just saying what I see in the advert)
Again, maybe its just me…
I think really, the adverts where companies try to write their own songs are really annoying…
As an example,
Another car insurance firm;
The song they use ripped – “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”
If your from the UK and you havent heard, where have you been.
Ooh I could go on, but I won’t…

I heard that Ronald Reagan said he was proud that young people were standing up for their nation again when he was asked about Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA.

Alex, I heard that too. Oops
And Roy, I agree with you about the Shiela’s Wheels ad. It shows them driving without seatbelts, not holding the wheel and passengers standing while the car is moving. Most dangerous!
The other ad (no, I don’t remember what it’s for either) is annoying because the song just ends up repeating the same line over and over and over, like they’d paid the songwriter by the word and he short-changed them.
Anyone think of any more?

Actually there is one…
I don’t know the actual advert, only that it is for a debt consolidation loan thingie and the song is,
“Don’t worry, be happy”
Well far be it from me to critise, but the propect of getting further into debt, and being happy about it…!
oh and another…
At Christmas, some years back the advert for toys r us.
If I remember correctly the lyrics go…
“Theres a magical place, we’re on our way there, with toys in the there millions all under one roof, its called toys are us, toys r us, toys r us”
Well, firstly (getting on my soap box!)
Its far from magical, in fact the staff are unhelpful (the stereo-typed youths you get in the Simpsons comes to mind!),
Millions of toys under one roof, yeah, lets split it correctly shall we,
Returned faulty items and limited stock. Hardly millions.
The queues, what a nightmare!!!
More adverts soon perhaps???
