On upgrades and shopping
I’m in the middle of upgrading Linux. Because I’m using Slackware (yay!) that’s as simple as editing the version number in a text file then typing:
slapt-get --update slapt-get --install glibc-solibs pkgtools sed slapt-get --dist-upgrade lilo
Sit back, wait, reboot. Done.
The ‘puter is busy downloading the new packages to install, so we’re going to leave it to do it’s thang and head out to the shops. We need food and stuff. You know how it is.
Later, there’s a trip to Business Link in store too.
Coming up: another post for Greywulf::Net, a post here about emulation and more Linux ramblings.
Oh, and I’ll write about why writers MUST use Linux and why they’re losing 3 hours writing time a day if they don’t. Something like that, anyway.
See ya!
