Somehow I’m not surprised that it is illegal for one Union to support another in strike around here. After all, Thatcher was in power for way too long.
In Sweden, when there’s a big strike that gets in limbo, any related Union can take their workers into strike just to support the cause. If it’s builders that are in strike, electricians, plumbers and so on will most likely strike too after a couple of weeks. That’s also why strikes usually work in Sweden. They have that freedom to get their demands through, because the snowball effect pretty much stalls the whole country after some time and the government cannot afford it.
So it gets cheaper to give after for the demands than sit tight and try to starve the workers out.
This place still need to rise from the ashes of Thatcher I think. She was a real bitch and I’m surprised that she’s still alive.
