How about if every food item that contained more than 10g of saturated fat per 100g was taxed at, say, 60%. All of this tax was sent as overseas aid to feed the world’s famine zones.
The net result would be that the overweight people of the world (ie, us in the West) would be eating less of what’s bad for us (because it’s more expensive) but what we do eat will help feed the rest of the world. It’s a win-win situation. We eat, they eat.
