- Her head dipped once more below the waterline, auburn hair fanning out like a squid worshipping the sun. The sea which had looked so perfect and azure from the air was clear up close and she laughed as she gasped for air, watching her toes pink and paddling below.
- This was all she had wanted to do since her parents had told her about the holiday, and here she was. The shoreline was still close enough for her to be able to see her mother, stood with her eyes shaded watching protectively. She waved, and dipped her head into the cold surf again. Idly she wondered where her father was.
