- The reasonably conservative estimate of civilian deaths caused by Bush’s unprovoked attack on the sovereign state of
Iraq (defined by the Nuremburg War Crimes Tribunal to be the highest of all war crimes) is 100,000. On a straight mathematical basis, that would be equal to one Twin Tower attack every month for close to three years.
Image that. Imagine the loss and pain felt by the families who lost loved ones in the Twin Towers. Imagine whose losses thirty times over. Picture the pain and grief and hatred welling up. That’s a force greater than any atom bomb. That kind of damage doesn’t go away because of one election. It won’t go in a generation. That’s a scar that will shape the Middle East and opinions about the US worldwide for decades to come.
Bush did that.
