ok, it’s hot here in the UK, and I have hayfever. This means, in short:
- I have to think to breathe. If I don’t make myself breathe, I stop. That ain’t fun
- All my skin itches
- Eyes hurt on the inside
- My nose contains an unending supply of runny concrete
- I ache
But heck, look on the bright side. I’m alive
Listed like that, it does sound kinda lousy, but in reality, hayfever ranks way below cancer, AIDS or even asthma (though it does give me a heck of a lot of sympathy for the asthmatics out there. Feeling breathless like this for the rest of your life cannot be fun). It’s not a reason to take time off work or moan and gripe or complain. Doing any of those things won’t make it go away, so it’s best just to get on with life.
It’s only hayfever, and it will be gone soon.
